Where this happens
A treatment plant runs intake, pumping, large-line isolation, filtration, chemical dosing, sludge handling, replacements, and automated skids. Buyers often ask for "water treatment valves" as a single package, but the plant is really a set of very different duties sharing one project.
How it goes wrong
The reason one valve route cannot cover a plant is that each position has a different dominant failure mode. At pump discharge the risk is reverse flow and surge, so closing behavior outweighs pressure class. On large isolation lines it is seat wear and actuator torque. On dosing lines it is chemical compatibility on a small pipe. On sludge service it is clogging geometry. On replacements it is dimensional and document matching. Selecting the whole plant by size and pressure class flattens all of that and gets several positions wrong at once.
