Build the replacement basis from field evidence
A reliable replacement request needs more than an old model number. Record the valve function, medium, pressure and temperature, normal operation, failure reason, size and rating, face-to-face length, end-connection details, centerline and shaft position, actuator interface, surrounding clearance, flow direction, materials, markings, documents, and shutdown window. Use photographs with a scale and identify every uncertain dimension or assumption.
